Geosynthetic clay liners (GCL) is a generic term for bentonite-based geosynthetic impermeable barrier (GBR-C). Bentonite clay is a highly absorbent swelling clay, sandwiched between two geotextiles. Depending on the application and the specific site conditions, the raw materias composition will change. The mass and type of both the bentonite and the geotextiles will change according to the mechanical, hydraulic and compatibility requirements.
