The patented LaCam^® IPS positioning scan matches hundreds of thousands of precise measurement points of the inner part of a vessel with outer structure measurement.  The resulting point-cloud covers all 6 of freedom for a 3D position. Our patented approach combines these measurements to determine the exact geometry of the vessel. Dirt or slag do not affect this process, which also avoids the potential errors introduced by other measurement systems including point lasers.

The LaCam^® laser scanner provides a repeatability rate of +/- 2mm (0.078 in) on hot surfaces of up to 1700°C (3092°F).
