The system operates at 25 MHz and uses an optimal angle of about 31° for stainless steel. This guarantees precise grain size evaluation within the 8 to 40 mm (0.31-1.57 in) range. The received signal is compared to a calibration curve to calculate the exact grain size. This process ensures consistent quality control and minimizes costly production deviations.
