Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Commercial Metals Company (CMC) as of June 2011.   Responsible for all aspects of the CMC’s financial functions encompassing treasury, tax, risk management, accounting, financial reporting, business planning, strategy, mergers and acquisitions as well as information technology.

Prior to joining CMC, Ms. Smith served for five years as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Gerdau Ameristeel.  She also served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for FARO Technologies, Inc.  Her career includes over 20 years service with Alcoa Inc. where she held a variety of leadership positions including Vice President of Finance for Alcoa’s Aerospace, Automotive & Commercial Transportation Group; Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Alcoa Fujikura Ltd.; and Director of Internal Audit.  

Ms. Smith is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Accounting and is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Ms. Smith is Chair of the Audit Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee of Minerals Technologies Inc.
