Specialty Minerals Inc. is an international, research-based, mining, minerals/chemical company.  Our Eastover SC plant manufactures a raw material used in the paper making process.  Our facility operates 24/7 in continuous process flow.  This plant operates with a self-directed employee team (managed remotely offsite).

Position Summary:

• Primarily weekday position (typically day shifts).  On call as needed.
• $29.67/hour for full skill base completion
• Trouble-shooting, repairs and maintenance for the entire facility- in a continuous flow/batch chemical process environment (equipment, vessels, tanks, railcar unloading).
• Repairs and familiarity with: gearboxes, pressure/vacuum blowers, pumps, screw conveyors, motors, valves, piping and field instrumentation, 480v MCC, and process control (Siemens S7) equipment
• Maintain a computerized maintenance management system (DataStream/Oracle)
• Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach by teaming with operators that use equipment

Position Requirements:

 

• Team player – understands the benefits of a unified force
• Safety conscious.  Safety is the number one priorityPC skills will be required for monitoring, administrative, financial, purchasing and record keeping responsibilities
• Ability to prioritize and drive change towards reliability centered maintenance
• Continuous improvement orientation
• Strong industrial maintenance background with millwright or electrical skills
• Highly motivated, success driven style
• Ability to display integrity and act as an example employee to our customers
• Lean Manufacturing background a plus

Position Qualifications:

 

• Must have a High School Diploma/GED
• At least 5 years field experience in an industrial environment
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, climb a ladder, and use catwalks of various heights
• Must be a dependable worker as independent work is the norm
