Information Required by the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) for Registration of Commercial Fertilizer.

Specialty Minerals Inc. Ag Lime – Longview
Specialty Minerals Inc. Ag Lime – Camas

The following information meets the labeling requirements of the WSDA for the two waste-derived commercial fertilizers identified above.

Specialty Minerals Inc. produces inorganic mineral products (precipitated calcium carbonate or PCC) for the paper industry at more than 50 locations world-wide, including three in Washington state.  Specialty Minerals Inc. makes PCC by first combining dry lime (calcium oxide) with water to produce calcium hydroxide.  Specialty Minerals Inc. then combines the calcium hydroxide with carbon dioxide to produce PCC.  After each process, we screen the product to remove large particles. This material is dewatered and stored onsite at our Camas and Longview sites for use as an agricultural soil additive (Ag Lime).  Ag Lime from PCC operations has been used as an agricultural soil additive for more than fifteen years at many of our world-wide locations.

The information provided at this website includes the following:

  • A Material Safety Data Sheet for Ag Lime for both Camas and Longview
  • Laboratory Analyses for Ag Lime from both Camas and Longview
  • A copy of the label for these Ag Limes for both Camas and Longview

Please contact Specialty Minerals Inc. at 360 518 6626 if you have questions or need further information about the Ag Lime produced at these locations.
