Minerals Technologies Inc. is a resource- and technology-based organization that develops and produces performance-enhancing minerals, mineral-based and synthetic mineral products for the paper, steel, polymer and other manufacturing industries on a worldwide basis.
The Company has three product lines:
- it is the leading producer and supplier of precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) to the worldwide paper industry;
- it is one of the world’s leading developers and marketers of mineral-based monolithic refractory materials, which are used to resist the effects of high temperature and are usually applied as coatings to surfaces exposed to extreme heat;
- and, it mines and produces natural mineral-based products including ground calcium carbonate and talc.
Minerals Technologies Inc. became a publicly traded company on October 23, 1992, following the initial public offering by Pfizer Inc. Before this initial public offering, the Company was a wholly owned subsidiary of Pfizer. The Company’s stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol MTX.
